Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR :

DT: Hello RELLIK, How are you?.... when did you start playing?
Rellik: I've been playing keyboards since I was 15, but I've only been playing guitar for about 2 years.

DT: Who designed the GRAVESPAWN logo?
Rellik: I did.

DT: How old are you?
Rellik: 22

DT: Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?
Rellik: I think that image and theatrics definitely play an important role in Black Metal music. For GRAVESPAWN its a psychological thing. When we put on the paint and spikes and cover ourselves in blood it makes us feel like we're going to war. The way I see it we are at war with Christian / Jewish / Islam society and we help to spread a Satanic message to people.
When we put on the paint and spikes we're pretty much putting on our soldier's uniform. This is not a gimmick to us like it is with so many other narrow minded retards who claim to be "TRUE" Black Metal.

DT: Are you into Serial Killers?... tell me your opinion about TED BUNDY, RICHARD RAMIREZ and CHARLES MANSON?
Rellik: I think deep down we all have a morbid fascination with death and murder. However, unlike most Black Metallers, I prefer not to present Satan or Satanism as being "evil" because it doesn't help our cause in any way whatsoever. But sometimes I do like to unleash my morbid side. Track 3 on the Demo is a good example of that, however I don't plan on doing it again because I'd much rather promote true Satanism than promote a sterotype.

DT: How do you describe your style?
Rellik: Its hard to say because Blasphem and I are changing our style as opposed to the style on our Demo. Our new sound will best be described as being very sinister. It will be more raw and brutal than before and we'll be incorporating synth elements to make it more spine chilling. I'm sure most people will be a little skeptical about adding keyboards but I guarantee that our music will be much more ruthless than it was before.

DT: What topics do you consider in your lyrics?
Rellik: GRAVESPAWN will always promote Theistic Satanism and Luciferianism. That will never change.

DT: Which do you prefer?... EMPEROR or BURZUM?
Rellik: EMPEROR, no contest.

DT: What CD's / bands have you been listening to lately?
Rellik: Lately I've been listening to a lot of US black metal such as ABAZAGORATH, CRIMSON MOON, BLACK FUNERAL, THY INFERNAL, KULT OV AZAZEL, and BLOODSTAINED DUSK. 

DT: Tell me your opinion about ANTON SZANDOR LA VEYand THE CHURCH OF SATAN please.
Rellik: GRAVESPAWN supports anything opposed to Religion and social mediocrity so long as they don't go out of their way to make asses out of themselves. I personally don't agree with their atheistic views on Satan though.

DT: What do you think about LORENA BOBBIT?
Rellik: Anyone who cuts off a man's penis should be put to death without trial.

DT: How did the idea of "Thus Reigns The Imperial Order Of Tartaros" (Demo 2004)?... tell us about this production please.
Rellik: Tartaros is pretty much the "Hell" of Greek/Roman mythology. The title just kindof came to me and I thought it sounded cool. I recorded the entire thing on my shitty computer having no access to studio equiptment nor the money to afford it. The CD is currently available either through me or NERBILOUS PRODUCTIONS.

DT: Your fave European bands?
Rellik: DARK FUNERAL, HECATE ENTHRONED, EMPEROR, MARDUK, IMMORTAL, old DIMMU BORGIR.

DT: In what musical direction will GRAVESPAWN be heading in for the next production? 
Rellik: It will be more raw and brutal than anything we've ever done in the past. Most of the focus will be on the guitar work with keyboards more or less just in the background to provide a more sinister atmosphere.

DT: Your last growl for DEATHTHRASHER's readers?
Rellik: Ave Satanas!!!
